I buy the magazine "Tropical Fish Hobbyist" monthly. The
advertisements by TAAM Inc (T/A Rio) show very high throughput pumps
which seem identical to the Tunze turbelle series. Are they being
manufactured under licence in the U.S., or is this a rip-off ? Does
anyone know ?

Regards, Fishnut.

The SEIO pumps are similar but not the same. They seem to be good pumps
so far but they are not to the same caliber as the Tunze units.

A ripoff, I guess you could say. At least of a 6080 or a 6060.

It doesn't do the same thing as an electronically controlled Turbelle Stream

Hello Paul and Kim,

Thanks for the replies. So far, I have only bought the 6060 (being the
cheapest - LOL). The performance seems very good so far. The cost of a
controller with 2 variable speed units, in the U.K., is astronomic !!
- over £ 400 (US $ 730), and that is mail-order. It becomes a
ridiculously expensive hobby.

Regards, Fishnut.

I know a guy that bought the Seio pumps, and a month later
they were up for sale. The Tunze pumps literally blew him
away. I have a Tunze Stream in my 280g, and it is turned
down so as to not blast the livestock. The other Stream is
in transit to Tunze to see what is wrong with it. (Bought
them used).
