I finally put up a pic of the stuff that's growing very nicely in my tank. I still am not sure if I should be pleased or alarmed. http://www.personal.psu.edu/faculty/e/x/exk7/SaltwaterStuff/NewSaltWater/OddGrowth.html rtk

Looks like a species of macro algae growing in my reef tanks. It grows mostly in the sump, as the tangs like it. I like the stuff. No I don't eat it :-) It's very slow growing, slippery, and kind of rubbery, nice pritty red colored. I don't have any pictures of it. Anyone want to buy me a digital camera for Christmas? hehehe I have a nice vhs camera with great macro, but I need to get a vhs to digital converter. I had one, but it was designed to work with win 98, not compatible with win xp, purchased another brand, and my motherboard fried :-( so I'm leary of trying it again. Anyone want to try it out and see if it works on your computer :-) Wayne Sallee Wayne's Pets Wayne@WaynesPets.com rtk wrote on 12/7/2005 9:14 AM: > > I finally put up a pic of the stuff that's growing very nicely in my > tank. Wayne, If you can convince one of us to get you a video card with a TV tuner/aux input with at least 64 MB of memory on it instead, you can run those vhs tapes through it and convert 'em with something as simple as Windows XP Plus (about $20) and be done with it. You can use that vhs camera to convert all your vhs tapes to DVD...I don't have one, so I had to use my last working vcr to convert mine. My wife uses hers to record music from the cable music channels. Yeah, I created a monster. :) Spend another $20 or so, and you can set yourself up a nice DVR, IF the tuner doesn't already come with the software. Slick.
