My calcium reactor has finally bit the dust and ma looking for a replacement. It was an Aqua Medic and was about 10 yrs. old. Motor quit. I haven't been keeping up with what is currently on the ket, so any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. -- The Road Goes On Forever And The Party Never Ends.

The pump is integral with the top cover. I can, and have, removed it for cleaning occasionally, but it's not like a power head or such. I've checked the Aqua Medic website and the newer models show some fundimental design changes from my old CR, so I doubt, because of it's age, if a new assembly could be ordered. That, plus, other parts are showing significant wear and tear. A new unit is called for and I'm trying to see if any other types are worth looking at. I mean I've gotten 10 years out of this one, so I 've got nothing to complain about there, but if there are more efficient units available I'd like to consider them before deciding. It's a little difficult to judge solely on advertising hyperbole. Yea, truth in advertizing has gone out the window, unfortunately.
